What is the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you? My dad introducing me to the sport of golf and all of its unspoken lessons. And providing me with a strong example, without overdoing the advice thing.

What is your favorite bible verse? A tough one to single out. However, one of my favorites, that I used in my dad’s eulogy, is James 1:22-25. “Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like. But whoever catches a glimpse of the revealed counsel of God — the free life! — even out of the corner of his eye, and sticks with it, is no distracted scatterbrain but a man or woman of action. That person will find delight and affirmation in the action.”

What makes you smile? Our 8 Austin grandkids ages 6-13. Crack me up, particularly when we get them without their parents around.

Bee Creek UMC is a community where imperfect people are transformed by the perfect love of God and change the world together. What does our mission mean to you? To me, this simple statement is self-explanatory, and perfect. It means doing good works, being the hands and feet, in spite of ourselves. One thing we all have in common is being imperfect, but imperfect is capable of improvement, and doing God’s will on this earth along the way.
