There are lots of ways to connect and get involved at Bee Creek UMC.

We believe that everyone has a unique role to play in the life of our church and our community. Our various adult discipleship opportunities offer a range of activities and services designed to foster spiritual growth, build strong relationships, and meet the needs of our neighbors.

Membership at Bee Creek UMC

Becoming a member of Bee Creek UMC is a commitment to share your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, your witness, and be part of a loving and supportive community.

There are several ways to learn more about membership:

Attend Worship Services: Begin by attending worship services to get a feel for the church community and the style of worship at Bee Creek UMC. This will help you connect with the congregation and experience the church’s mission firsthand.

Participate in Church Activities: Getting involved in church activities, small groups, or volunteer opportunities is another way to learn more about the church and build relationships with current members. This can help you feel more connected and comfortable as you consider membership.

Join a Small Group or Bible Study: Small groups and Bible studies offer a more intimate setting to explore your faith and build deeper connections within the church. Participating in these groups can enhance your understanding of the church’s teachings and provide support as you prepare for membership.

Coffee with the Pastor: Bee Creek UMC offers new member sessions, Coffee with the Pastor, designed to introduce you to the church’s beliefs, practices, and opportunities for involvement. During this time, you will briefly cover the basics of the United Methodist faith, the history and mission of Bee Creek UMC, and what it means to be a member. You will also have a chance to ask questions and meet other prospective members.

Meet Individually with the Pastor: You can schedule a meeting with the pastor to discuss your interest in becoming a member. This is a great opportunity to share your faith journey, ask any specific questions you might have, and learn more about what it means to be a part of the Bee Creek UMC family.

Contact the Church Office: If you have specific questions or need more information, you can always contact the church office directly. The staff can provide details about upcoming Coffee with the Pastor gatherings, special events, or other steps you can take to learn more about joining the church.

GIFT Groups at Bee Creek UMC

Experience Spiritual Growth in Community

At Bee Creek UMC, our GIFT Groups (Growing In Faith Together) offer a unique way to deepen your relationship with Christ and connect with others in our church community. These small, supportive groups meet weekly, providing a relaxed and welcoming environment to share, encourage, and walk alongside each other in faith.

  • Weekly Meetings: GIFT Groups typically consist of 6-10 people who gather once a week to discuss their experiences and growth in their faith journey. Currently, GIFT Group One meets on Sundays at 10:00am.
  • Simple Structure: Each session revolves around one central question: “How was your week with God?” There’s no preparation required, though members often bring scripture, poems, or writings to share.
  • Inclusive Atmosphere: GIFT Group One is open to new members, offering a chance to visit and experience the group dynamic. Once new participants join, we may spin off additional groups to accommodate everyone.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Wrapping the Community in Love and Prayer

Do you love to knit, or would you love to learn how? Our prayer shawl ministry combines creativity and compassion to offer comfort and hope to those in need. Our ministry is dedicated to crafting handmade shawls, blankets, and other items that provide warmth and a tangible expression of God’s love.

Our prayer shawl ministry involves members of our congregation coming together to knit or crochet shawls and blankets, each one made with prayers and blessings for the recipient. These handmade items serve as a source of comfort and spiritual support for individuals going through challenging times.

Every stitch is made on behalf of the person who will receive the shawl. It is our hope that everyone receiving these shawls will feel God’s embrace and BCUMC’s love.

Prayer Shawls: Beautifully crafted shawls that are often given to individuals undergoing illness, loss, or other difficulties. Each shawl is made with care and prayers for healing and strength.

Blankets: Warm, cozy blankets provided to those in need, such as families facing hardship or individuals experiencing life transitions.

Once completed, these shawls and blankets are distributed through various channels:

  • Hospital Visits: Shawls are given to patients in hospitals, providing them with a comforting reminder of our prayers and care.
  • Local Shelters: Blankets are donated to shelters and community organizations, helping those facing homelessness or severe life challenges.
  • Church Members: Individuals within our congregation who need support or are facing personal struggles may receive these gifts as a gesture of love and encouragement.

Get Involved or Request a Shawl

If you would like to learn more about the prayer shawl ministry, whether to join our crafting team or to request a shawl for yourself or someone you know, please reach out to us.

We invite you to be part of this heartfelt ministry, whether by contributing your time and skills or by receiving the comfort of a lovingly made shawl. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those around us through the simple yet profound act of sharing warmth and prayer.
