What is your favorite bible verse? I wouldn’t call this my favorite verse, but one I’ve had to memorize so I can call it to mind anytime: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6–7).

What are you passionate about? I am passionate about hospitality, in the church and in my home. Making people feel like they belong is the foundation of good relationships. I love to cook and entertain, surrounded by long-time and brand-new friends.

What makes you smile? Children make me smile. You never know what they will say or do, especially during a Children’s Sermon.

This is God’s invitation to come just as you are. You don’t need to “get it together” before you come to Bee Creek UMC. None of us have it all together yet! With each other we are being transformed by God’s perfect love and as a community, we are changing the world!

Worship and Music Ministry

What is your favorite bible verse? “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20–21).

What are you passionate about? Music. I’m not passionate about it like a virtuoso but more that it’s just a different and cool way of communicating together. To me, harmony can be math, frequencies, and vibrations that simply the ears, the soul and the heart can calculate on their own and respond with a voice. I like cicada songs in the summer too.

What makes you smile? Animals, gardening, kids, jokes, music, beauty in the world. How does Moses make his coffee in the morning? He-brews it.

It means that we’re not perfect, but we try to be better with God’s help and that we try to better the world around us, both here in Spicewood and elsewhere like Austin, the Hill Country, San Antonio, Guatemala. To me it also means that we recognize our imperfect nature in an imperfect world and to “judge not, lest we be judged.” It might be harder sometimes but better to love thy neighbor as thyself than to judge.

Recreation and Outreach Ministry

What is your favorite Bible verse? “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you” (John 15:12).

Share three words that your close friends would use to describe you. Loyal, loving, and loud!

What makes you smile? Witnessing or being part of small acts of kindness.

Children and Student Ministry

If you could have one superpower, what would it be? I would love to be able to breathe under water because I love the ocean. I would love to be able to explore the entire ocean!

What is a fact that most people don’t know about you? I played volleyball at the University of Texas and played professionally in Ravenna, Italy.

Share three words that your close friends would use to describe you. Funny, silly, caring.

Bee Creek UMC is a community where imperfect people are transformed by the perfect love of God and change the world together. What does our mission mean to you? I love that our church leads with the fact that we are “imperfect people.” So many people turn away from church or don’t attend because they feel they aren’t enough, or they won't be accepted. But at Bee Creek we know we are all imperfect and therefore all people are welcome. All people have a place at Bee Creek, and we can change the world through God’s perfect love!

Share three words that your close friends would use to describe you. My close friends would say I am inspirational, charismatic, and determined.

What is the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you? “Leave no doubt.” From my martial arts instructor.

What is a fact that most people don’t know about you? I was born upside down, bottom first!

The mission to me is all about acceptance. I love the community where we all work to “pull heavens to earth.” I feel the best way to change the world is through leadership and examples. The love of Creation is a light we all have to share to bring all together in joyous communion.

Financial Specialist

What is your favorite bible verse? “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).

What is the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you? My grandmother, Melva, said “Love God, love others, and do the best you can.”

What makes you smile? My family! My wonderful husband and my awesome kids.

We are doing God’s work together, each and every day, whether that’s putting tithes in the bank account, handing out produce at Helping Hand, or hugging a friend as they grieve. We are being the hands and feet of Jesus to those who know Him well, those who know Him a little, and those who don’t know Him yet.

Building and Grounds

What is your favorite bible verse? “but in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you” (1 Peter 3:15). Because it tells you to always be prepared to share your faith.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be? I would like to fly like Superman. Just jump into the air and go wherever I want. I often think about how awesome that would be!

What makes you smile? People with a great sense of humor! I love being around people that can make just about anything seem funny!

It means to realize that we all have imperfections, and that I’m no better than anyone else. Because of that, you should treat others — as the bible says — with gentleness and respect. Then when others see the love of God in you, they may open up to you to the point where you can share your faith.

What is the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you? Not to take others actions personally. Their actions usually have more to do with themselves than with you.

What is your favorite bible verse? “A sweet friendship refreshes the soul” (Proverbs 27:9).

What makes you smile? A child figuring out how to do something for themselves. To see the pure joy in their face is priceless.
