Celebrate Advent
WE BELIEVE GOD IS WITH US
What is Advent?
Advent is the season in the Christian calendar that marks the anticipation and preparation for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas.
Lasting four weeks, it begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas and concludes on Christmas Eve. During Advent, many Christians engage in prayer, reflection, and the lighting of Advent candles, symbolizing hope, peace, joy, and love.
The word “Advent” comes from the Latin term “adventus,” meaning “coming” or “arrival.” This reflects the dual focus of the season: looking back to Christ’s first coming and looking forward to His promised return.
It’s a time of hopeful waiting, encouraging believers to prepare their hearts for the joy and light of Christmas.
