What is the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you? God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Being an engineer, a program manager, and a military officer, there is a high propensity to want to be in charge and fix everything! Unfortunately, it is impossible to find solutions for all issues — and many issues are not in my purview. Learning boundaries is difficult but very important, especially for me.

What are you passionate about? I am passionate about helping people. I did not know I had this passion until I opened a center for Veterans and had to appreciate social work. What an excellent learning experience this was and still is!

Share three words that your close friends would use to describe you. Detail oriented: Paul will identify all of the details and facts, examine cost and material options to recommend best value solutions. Dedicated: When Paul joins a program, you can expect him to dedicate time and energy to help with the success of the program or task. Compassionate: Paul always considers the human element on every situation. All efforts should encompass human elements and thoughtful consideration. When emotions, culture, and backgrounds are incorporated into conversations, good results will happen.

Bee Creek UMC is a community where imperfect people are transformed by the perfect love of God and change the world together. What does our mission mean to you? We need to recognize our capabilities and limitations as well as set reasonable expectations. BCUMC is a great foundation to build on; working together we can reach out to our communities, share the good news about God’s love, and help enrich our world.
